JAWBONE IS TEMPORARILY ON HOLD UNTIL COACH DYLAN RETURNS FROM MILITARY TRAINING IN MARCH 2023
Our Olympic Weightlifting program is designed to prepare athletes for the sport of weightlifting in a safe and effective training system crafted to improve technique and build strength. We will focus on the Snatch and Clean and Jerk, but the training will not be limited to those two lifts.
Olympic Weightlifting is an exciting and challenging sport and Jawbone Weightlifting Club is the perfect place to learn and improve. JWC welcomes lifters with any experience ranging from absolute beginners to competitors. Whether you are preparing for a competition or want to simply get stronger, we are here to help you reach your goals. If you're new to weightlifting, our program is designed to get you started with lots of personalized attention. We will focus on developing safe movement patterns and building strength to form a solid foundation for you to build upon as you progress. Our programmed accessory work keeps your joints happy and healthy while getting stronger.
Prior to your first class, new weightlifters will meet with Coach Dylan to evaluate proper movement of basic lifts before joining group classes. We are currently accepting members in their Freshman year of High School, 14 years and up.

Recently Dylan has dedicated most of his time to Olympic Weightlifting and plans to compete at the Illinois State meet in May 2021. Dylan has understanding of the science and biomechanics behind programming for improving the Olympic lifts as well as improving basic strength and conditioning.
Dylan enjoys the process of helping athletes of all levels and ages improve. He is committed to designing programs that emphasize consistent improvement through accumulation of quality repetitions, developing better technique and resilience through variations and accessory work, and most importantly improving strength qualities to support weightlifting success. ------------------------------------------------------------- The name Jawbone comes from the story in the Bible about Samson. Samson was a man blessed with great strength from God. There are many stories of his strength but the one the club is named for comes from Dylan’s favorite. At one point in time Samson was surrounded by 1,000 Philistines (the enemy of Israel). He picked up the jawbone of a donkey and slew them all.
"with a donkey's jawbone I have killed a thousand men" Judges 15:16
